This Square-Shouldered Melon Egg Vase is a form that has been inspired by nature. Altered on the potter's wheel during the wet stage to allow movement in the clay. This form is heavily influenced by the Mei Peng style of vase making from the early Chinese clay culture. The vase is thrown on the potter's wheel and then altered into a melon-like shape to create a unique design.
Covered in a new Ben Owen Pottery proprietary glaze blend, Opal Blue, each piece displays a beautiful array of variegated hues. The glaze was named after the incredible natural color of blue opals. Sure to become a favored piece of art in the home or office. Both decorative and functional. Measuring 4”w x 5.75”h.
