This handcrafted wood-fired pitcher draws inspiration from English pottery traditions, delivering both functionality and artistic beauty.  The Cloud Blue glaze mesmerizes with its rich complexity—transitioning from gentle violet hues through luminous pale blue to clear glazed sections that expose the natural warmth of the stoneware.  The wood-firing process imparts subtle variations that make each piece distinctly yours.  Ideal for special occasions or everyday moments when you want to infuse your dining experience with genuine craftsmanship and visual intrigue.  Measuring 7.5"l x 6.5”w x 10.5”h.  Dishwasher-safe.  Hand-turned by our studio assistant, Silas Bradley, as part of the Ben Owen Pottery Tableware Collection.

Cloud Blue
Cloud Blue Glaze was introduced to the line of Ben Owen Pottery proprietary glazes in 2023.  The Cloud Blue glaze ranges in color from a light violet-purple to a variegated pale, icy blue to a clear that shows off the light stoneware clay body underneath.  Ben Owen III often derives artistic inspiration from the natural environment around him.  This lovely glaze is the perfect example of this influence.  Imagine lying on a picnic blanket on a Summer's eve and watching the clouds float by along a Carolina blue sky.  The joy of wood firing!

The Tableware Collection
You can find the traditional forms and shapes of Ben Owen Sr. pottery wares in The Tableware Collection at Ben Owen lll Pottery.  This line highlights shapes and forms made in a traditional Owen style of the early 1900’s folk pottery of North Carolina as well as influences from Asia.
This traditional collection has been continued by several potters who have worked at Ben Owen Pottery since the 1960’s.  The previous line was made by potter Elizabeth McAdams, who worked as a studio assistant and retail manager for Ben Owen Pottery from 2022-2025.  The current line is made by potter Silas Bradley, who began work as a studio assistant in August 2025.

This piece is stamped "Ben Owen Pottery" with initials hand-signed "SB".
