A great way to start your day is with a cup of coffee or tea in a one-of-a-kind handmade mug.  The Stardust Green Matte Microcrystalline finish includes iron pigments to create a unique effect.  A great conversation piece while “going green” at your local coffee shop with this reusable mug.  The small crystals are developed by slowly cooling the kiln.  The Stardust Green glaze will be a conversation piece at the office or with family.  Measuring 5.25”l x 3.5”w x 4.5”h.

Stardust Green is a matte-crystal glaze that Ben Owen III developed over a 2-year span and approved for sale in 2012.  The name is derived from the amazing photographs of actual stardust beamed back to Earth at the time from the Hubble Space Telescope.  Green Stardust works require a kiln temperature meticulously controlled to over 2,300° Fahrenheit, with specific rising and falling temperature rates to encourage micro-crystal growth and render this stunning final product.  The glaze is applied by carefully airbrushing multiple layers of different glazes onto a piece.  Titanium-rich ingredients in the glazes promote crystal development.  Copper tints the crystals green.  Iron oxide is used to achieve the background color.

This piece is hand-signed by Ben Owen III with the year made (2022).
