A miniature version of Ben III's classic genie bottle vase. Bottles have been a favorite of Ben’s forms on the potter’s wheel.  With a unique finish of Stardust Green Matte Microcrystalline, This matte microcrystalline finish includes iron and copper pigments to create a truly unique effect.  The small crystals are developed by slow cooling the kiln.  A perfect token gift, hostess gift, or, present for that little one in the family with a passion for pottery.  Measuring 2.75”w x 4.25”h.
Please Note: What appear to be white spots on the surface are reflections from photo lighting.
The glaze is applied by carefully airbrushing multiple layers onto the surface of the vase.  The presence of titanium- and zinc-rich ingredients promotes crystal development while copper tints the crystals green and iron creates the earth-toned background.  We hope you enjoy this one-of-a-kind glaze!

Ben Owen Pottery developed the Micro-Crystal Glaze series over several years, manipulating materials with the potential to create unique surfaces and patterns that can be seen in nature.  Some outcomes resemble lichen on stone or mold growth on wood.  Other Micro-Crystal Glazes display similarities to a view of a collection of cells through a microscope, or, the majestic nebular formations telescopic images portray.
To achieve this rare find, the kiln temperature is meticulously controlled as it rises AND as it falls, to encourage micro-crystal growth at specific temperatures and render this stunning final product.  The glaze is applied by carefully airbrushing multiple layers of complementary glazes. The presence of titanium- and zinc-rich ingredients promotes crystal development, while various pigments tint the crystals.  We hope you enjoy this one-of-a-kind glaze!

This piece is hand-signed by Ben Owen III with the year made (2025).
