This Stardust Green Matte Microcrystalline glaze is one of Ben’s newest developments with copper pigment that provides a nice array of green hues along the contour of the jar.  The micro-crystals are formed inside the kiln during the cooling process.  Due to the unique chemical properties during micro-crystal formation, no two crystals are alike.  This glaze lends itself to creating completely individualized pieces.
The melon lines are influenced by the natural environment and provide an organic aesthetic while also providing a place for the hand to comfortably grip the tumblers.  A wonderful addition to any home.  Enjoy your iced tea, lemonade, or Sangria in this unique, handmade tumbler!  Will comfortably hold 16oz of liquid.  Dishwasher-safe.  Measuring 3.75”w x 6.5"h.
Please Note: What appear to be white spots on the surface are reflections from photo lighting.

Stardust Green is a matte-crystal glaze that Ben Owen III developed over a 2-year span and approved for sale in 2012.  The name is derived from the amazing photographs of actual stardust beamed back to Earth at the time from the Hubble Space Telescope.  Green Stardust works require a kiln temperature meticulously controlled to over 2,300° Fahrenheit, with specific rising and falling temperature rates to encourage micro-crystal growth and render this stunning final product.  The glaze is applied by carefully airbrushing multiple layers of different glazes onto a piece.  Titanium-rich ingredients in the glazes promote crystal development.  Copper tints the crystals green.  Iron oxide is used to achieve the background color.

This piece is hand-signed by Ben Owen III with the year made (2022).
