A classic bottle design that is influenced by Ben’s time in Japan and enhanced design by altering the shape into a flask-like form. With two small flat boards, Ben alters the shape shortly after making the piece on the wheel and creates the flattened design. The Nebular Purple glaze is a recent creation from experimenting with cobalt glazes in the wood kiln. The slow cooling of the kiln creates the light purple micro-crystals along the surface. Measuring 3.5"l x 6.25”w x 9.75”h.

The slow cooling of the kiln creates micro-crystals on the surface. The outcomes resemble majestic nebular formations telescopic images portray.
To achieve this rare find, the wood kiln temperature is meticulously controlled as it rises AND as it falls, to encourage micro-crystal growth at specific temperatures and render this stunning final product. We hope you enjoy this one-of-a-kind glaze!
