This exquisite hand-turned covered dish draws inspiration from centuries-old Korean ceramic traditions, bringing timeless elegance to your table.  The serene blue celadon glaze creates a sophisticated focal point whether displaying fresh fruit, serving appetizers, or presenting a cherished delicacy.  Mandmade by Ben Owen III and hand-carved by wife, LoriAnn Little Owen, this piece carries the warmth of artisanal creation—transforming everyday dining into a meaningful ritual of hospitality and connection that honors traditions spanning generations and cultures.  Dishwasher- and microwave-safe for kitchen use.  Also, makes a perfect jewelry holder for that special someone in your life.  Measuring 5.25”dia x 4.25”h.
Please Note: What appear to be white spots on the surface are reflections from photo lighting.

Celadon Blue
The Blue Celadon or Goryeo Celadon Glaze originated in Korea during the 10th and 11th centuries.  The finish is made from a feldspathic rock with additions of clay and flint rock and small amounts of yellow iron oxide as a pigment.  This finish is excellent for revealing carved designs on the glaze surface or the underlying clay surface.  The finish relies on the type of clay, the amount of iron oxide, and the firing atmosphere that is used to create the right environment for the color to develop.

This piece is hand-signed by Ben Owen III with the year made (2004) and is part of our "Pots From The Past" release.  A unique treasure from NC ceramic art history!
