Serving bowls have been a part of the home setting for thousands of years.  Offering guests, family, or friends a treat or special food dish has been a long-standing tradition across many cultures that continues today.  An arrangement of fresh flowers inside this bowl also provides a welcomed visual offering to visitors to your home or office.
Covered in a new Ben Owen Pottery proprietary glaze blend, Opal Blue, each piece displays a beautiful array of variegated hues.  The glaze was named after the incredible natural color of blue opals.
This Ming Bowl is a unique style with a wide rim that is influenced by clay forms created during the Ming Dynasties in Chinese culture.  The Ming Bowl form has been made for three generations in Ben III’s family.
The scalloped design on the base directly reflects the heavy Asian influence in Ben III's form and design, a common theme in his body of work.  The scalloped design is commonly seen in early Chinese glazed pottery during the Song and Tang Dynasties, as well as in early Japanese techniques.
Sure to become a favored piece of art in the home or office.  A great serving bowl for food. Also, doubles as a perfect display for floating flowers on a table.  Both decorative and functional.  Dishwasher- and microwave-safe.  Measuring 11.75”dia. x 4.5"h, with 10" opening diameter.
Please Note: What appear to be white spots on the surface are reflections from photo lighting.

This piece is hand-signed by Ben Owen III with the year made (2025).
