A classic and popular shape from Ben Owen III and his family, this Han Vase creates the perfect shape for displaying the beautiful colors in this artistic glaze combination.  This design is influenced by pottery forms made during the Chinese Han dynasty.  Vessels glazed in Pomegranate/Purple Haze provide a spectacular backdrop for any floral arrangement.  Measuring 10.75”h x 6.5”w.
Please Note: What appear to be white spots on the surface are reflections from photo lighting.

Ben Owen III’s Pomegranate/Purple Haze glazes are the result of ventures in layering various proprietary copper glazes.  This layering technique creates exquisite effects with an intentionally wide range of variations from piece to piece.  From rich, dark reds to lighter berry-reds and all the way to vibrant blues and purples, the Pomegranate/Purple Haze glaze is truly an artistic approach to glaze formation.  A treat to see with each kiln firing!

This piece is hand-signed by Ben Owen III with the year made (2024).
