This platter is perfect for serving.   Can also be displayed in an acrylic stand, or hung with wire for hanging on the wall (Pictured in the 12" Acrylic plate stand).     Measuring 12”w x 1.75"h.

Please Note: What appear to be white spots on the surface are reflections from photo lighting.

The Turquoise Matte glaze was created to produce a smooth, “soft” surface on the pots that would be a change from the glossy finishes typical in the Owen family of glazes.  From looking at surfaces created by Chinese Blue and Patina Green, Ben III wanted to add to the green glazes he makes but with the option of a weathered copper surface.  The ivy green to sage pigment is made from copper oxide and titanium oxide and the matte finish is created from the use of magnesium and calcium in the glaze.  Carbon present during the firing process will also affect the range of color in the green.

This piece is hand-signed by Ben Owen III with the year made (2023).
